The Humphrey Winterton Collection of East African Photographs:1860-1960 contains 7,610 photograph depicting 19th and 20th century life Africa.
The photographs are divided into 76 groups comprised of photograph albums as well as postcard and stereoscopic image collections.
Faceted searching is available from a search box located at the top of the site's Browse page, and from the bottom tab of the Collection Browser as well. Faceted searching allows you to add or remove search criteria selected from tabs in the Navigation Pane. These criteria include: Decades, Subjects, Places, People and Keywords.
Images can be discovered using the Collection Browser at the top of the Navigation Pane located on the left side of the browser window.
The hierarchical structure of the Collection Browser lets you view images from the group level down to individual images on a page.
